The
Executive Coach Institute Code of Professional Ethics is to establish
and maintain public confidence in the professionalism, honesty, ability
and integrity of the Executive Coach, it is fundamental to the future
success of the Executive Coach Institute, its certified coaches, and
the Executive Coach profession. |
To this end, the Board of Directors of the Executive Coach Institute have adopted and, as a condition of certification, all professionals certified through the Executive Coach Institute agree to abide by and subscribe to the Executive Coach Institute Code of Professional Ethics. By doing so, the coaches certified through the Executive Coach Institute give notice that they recognize the vital need to preserve and encourage fair and equitable practices among all who are engaged in the coaching profession.
The Executive Coach Institute Certified Coach shall accurately represent
qualifications and experience in both oral and written communications.
The Executive Coach Institute Certified Coach shall exert diligence to understand the client's organization, approaches, and goals throughout the coaching or consulting relationship. The Executive Coach Institute Certified Coach shall avoid using materials, titles, presentation slides, and additional creations originated by others, either orally or in writing, unless approved by the originator and with written permission whenever necessary. When another professional's books, audio, or other materials are used during the coaching assignment, the Certified Coach will give due credit to the originating organization or author. The Executive Coach Institute Certified Coach shall always treat other coaches and consultants with professional courtesy, dignity, and respect. The Executive Coach Institute Certified Coach shall maintain and respect the confidentiality of business or personal affairs of clients, agents, and other professionals. The Executive Coach Institute Certified Coach shall protect the public against fraud or unfair practices and shall attempt to eliminate from the coaching profession all practices, which bring discredit to the coaching profession. The Executive Coach Institute certified coach shall not be a party to any agreement to unfairly limit or restrain access to the marketplace by any other coach, consultant, client or to the public, based upon economic factors, race, creed, color, sex, age, disability, or country of national origin of another coach or consultant. |
