What is Executive Coaching?
Executive Coaching is the ongoing process of building the skills, capacity, and readiness of an individual, team or organization by guiding and developing people toward high performance, job satisfaction, and growth opportunities.

What does an Executive Coach do?
An Executive Coach assists clients in continuing their education, articulating their goals, identifying strategies, and assist in creating a work plan for success. With the assistance of a coach, clients will define their vision. The coach will challenge clients to achieve that vision by aligning their goals & corporate objectives with a solid implementation plan. A coach also assists in gaining clarity of focus and supports clients in achieving a powerful and satisfying career.

What else does Executive Coaching do?
  • Challenge clients to reach their potential
  • Provide clients with open, honest and straightforward feedback, regarding their progress towards their stated goals and personal vision
  • Assist clients in identifying ideas to organize, plan, delegate, and prioritize their workload
  • Provide clients with models that will improve their communication effectiveness
  • Assist clients in achieving more effective outcomes
  • Listen with an open mind to their clients’ concerns, challenges, and ideas; providing feedback as they formulate strategies for success
  • Collaborate with clients on building successful teams and alliances
  • Give clients knowledge to improve their focus on goals by using learning models such as the Transitional Timeline™ and the RA² Interface™ (Responsibility, Accountability, and Authority Guidelines)

What tools do Executive Coaches use when coaching?
The Executive Coach Institute provides coaching tools including: coaching models, manuals, audio, PowerPoint presentations, training materials, books, contracts, assessment programs, checklists, and tips via newsletter and teleconference, to help Certified Executive Coaches conduct effective coaching sessions with clients.Executive Coaches will also use their own experiences & apply their personal style & business knowledge during the coaching sessions.

How does the Executive Coaching process actually work?

The Executive Coaching process begins with the initial session. During this session, the Coach and the Coachee discuss expectations and review the Coaching Agreement, which is provided by the Executive Coach Institute. Together, they will review data and conduct a needs analysis and fact-finding session. (Often information from a 360º, performance appraisals, and other data assist in the development of the coaching session.) They will also review the summary of session topics and jointly prioritize coaching topics. The meeting dates will be set and paperwork completed. After the initial session, the general sessions follow. The overall goal for each session, based upon information identified in the fact-finding session, is determined.

Coaching models are reviewed and discussed at each session. The models build upon each other & interface to provide a solid grounding in management & executive skills. The frequency of future meetings should be consistent with sessions ordinarily held monthly. The session length tends to be from one to two hours and they are either held by teleconference or face-to-face.
